Tangy writing

In the tiny two-room apartment Adelaide has just moved into, a pair of stilettos sit on a shelf between two Pleiades. The Synthetic Heart heroine has two passions: shoes and books. Good thing, she's a press secretary at a publishing house. Convinced that her celibacy will only be a short parenthesis, she sets out on the search for a new companion. But who cares about a lonely woman over forty?

Antonio Munoz Molina and Karl Ove Knausgaard also awarded

The Medici Prize for Foreign Novel is awarded to Antonio Munoz Molina for A Solitary Walker in the Crowd. Munoz Molina, one of the great contemporary Spanish-speaking authors, has already been honored in his country with the Princess of Asturias Prize for all his work. He has received many other awards.

This book is the story of a long stroll through the cities that mattered to him. Equipped with a notebook, a pair of scissors and his smartphone, Antonio Munoz Molina strolls through Paris, New York, Madrid and Lisbon. The book is like a huge collage of what the walker sees and hears. The sounds of the city mingle with the shadows of the beloved writers, Poe, Baudelaire and others. A walk-meditation in the midst of the sounds of the city.
